Bund der Bayern - Adelaide German Dancers
Welcome to Volkstanzfest!
The German-Austrian-Swiss dance groups of Australia welcome you to Volkstanzfest 2015, and would love to see you at the events. We are passionate about our dancing and culture and keen to share with others.
The General Public is invited to attend the following events:
Saturday, 4 April 2015
10am - 1pm:
Come to Hahndorf and watch the dancers roam the main street from 10:00am - 11:30am and break out in impromtu dances and flashmobs;
Join the dancers afterwards in one of the four recommended restaurants: Das Haus, Hahndorf Inn, German Arms, Hahndorf Old Mill;
3:15pm for 3:30pm (sharp):
Watch the official opening ceremony in the German Club, 223 Flinders St, with His Excellency The Governor of South Australia, Mr. Hieu van Le AO to officially commence Volkstanzfest 2015. Please note that if you are arriving too late you may be asked to wait until the official opening has concluded to avoid disruptions;
4:30pm until late:
Watch the dancing of the groups, with many interstate participants as well as two Bavarian and one Austrian group. Adelaide will not see this level of skills in German-Austrian-Swiss dancing again for a while! Don't miss the unique opportunity!
Dancing will conclude approx. at 8pm and will be followed by musical entertainment by DJ Herbert Stauber;
Sunday, 5 April 2015 (Easter Sunday)
2:30pm until late
Join us again in the German Club, 223 Flinders St, for an afternoon of German-Austrian-Swiss dancing, followed by musical entertainment by The Capricorns;
For all events in the German Club
Food and drinks will be available for purchase;
The roof top courts of the Christian Brothers College (next door to the German Clubs) have been hired and a bouncy castle will be set up. Please note that parents will be responsible for their children at all times;
There is not entry fee, but a donation towards the non-profit community group "Bund der Bayern Inc" (host of the event) will be much appreciated;
