Friday, 3 April 2015

 

Afternoon: Arrival and transport via chartered buses to the hotels on South Terrace.

1530hrs – 1630hrs: Presentation and workshop: “The Future of Volkstanz in Australia” (for group leaders only, maximum two persons per group), location: Heysen Room, Chifley on South Terrace Hotel, 226 South Terrace.

From 1700hrs: Make your way to The German Club, 223 Flinders St, Adelaide.

A chartered bus for approx. 50 participants will depart at 1645hrs from the hotels (for families with young children, elderly and mobility impaired, as per registration).

1730hrs: Induction of all group leaders in the “Weinkeller” of the German Club, and tour of the German Club facilities.

From 1800hrs: Bistro dinner

1900 – 2345hrs: Social get together and musical entertainment by DJ TCE.

 

Please note that all events on Friday are a private function for registered participants, and not open to the general public.


Saturday, 4 April 2015

 

0845hrs - 0900hrs (optional): Depart from the hotels via chartered buses for Hahndorf. All participants to wear traditional Trachten.

1000hrs – 1115hrs: Explore the attractions and shops and engage in impromptu performances, flashmobs and traditional German-Austrian-Swiss folk art in the main street of Hahndorf.

1130hrs: Group photo in Pioneer Memorial Gardens (next to the German Arms Hotel)
1200hrs: Lunch (each group to make their own arrangements)
1330hrs – 1345hrs: Depart for the Adelaide CBD via chartered buses;
1415hrs: Drop off at South Tce hotels for a 25 minutes stop-over
1445hrs – 1500hrs: Buses depart from the hotels to the German Club
1530hrs sharp: Official opening of the Volkstanzfest 2015
1600hrs – 2000hrs: Dancing by the groups
From 1800hrs: Bistro dinner
2000hrs – 2330hrs: Musical entertainment by DJ Herbert Stauber

 

Sunday, 5 April 2015

 

0945hrs – 1000hrs (optional): Depart via chartered buses to Carclew House, 11 Jeffcott St, North Adelaide (for those who registered). All participants in
Trachten, please.
Note: Groups/participants who are not coming along to Carclew House will need to arrange their own lunch.
1000hrs – 1315hrs (optional): Traditional Easter games, socializing, a Goasslschnoizen (whipcracking) workshop and BBQ lunch in the relaxed atmosphere of a beautiful, heritage-listed villa and garden.

Please note that events at Carclew House are a private function for registered participants, and not open to the general public.
1315hrs: Interstate participants return to the German Club via chartered buses
1300hrs: Group Leader Meeting in the German Club – review of Volkstanzfest 2015 and election of host for Volkstanzfest 2017.
1430hrs – 1830hrs: Dancing by the groups
From 1800hrs: Bistro dinner
1930hrs – 2330hrs: Musical entertainment by The Capricorns
