Volkstanzfest 2015
April 2015

We hosted the bi-ennial 21st Volkstanzfest in 2015, which saw more than 300 participants in Dirndls and Lederhosen in Adelaide over the Easter Weekend.

A special higlight was the international visit of two Bavarian and one Austrian group.

Everyone had aball, but suffice to say it was bloomin exhausting to run the event.

For those nostalgicly inclined, please find the programme for the event here:

Schuetzenfest 2015
Jan 2015

The German Club did it once again and pulled off a fantastic Schuetzenfest, with the new location in Rymill Park and an increased focus on family activities proving to be some refreshing changes to this iconic event.

Our group had a ball dancing at Schuetzenfest 2015, once we got ourselves adjusted to the slippery, sloping dance floor.

Port Lincoln
Aug 2014

From 23 - 25 August 2014 we had a team of six dancers to teach all those fishermen in South Australia's tuna capital how to properly hit and slap each other.

Starting off with performances at the Port Lincoln show, we had a great time with the locals on Sunday, followed by five hours of Schuhplattler workshops on Monday for the Kirton Point Primary School.

And for increased cultural understanding: Even the most ignorant of our group now know the name of Mykabie Diva...

Trip to Bavaria
April 2014

27 of our members departed for a visit of two Bavarian dance groups in April 2014.

Suffice to say that we had a ball, and the hospitality of our Bavarian friends in Hirschau and Jacking was exceptional. We are looking forward to their return visit in April 2015.
